Egypt will switch to daylight saving time (DST) in 2026 by moving clocks forward by one hour, as part of efforts to optimize energy consumption and make better use of daylight.
The new time will take effect on Friday, April 24, 2026, which is the last Friday of April, in line with the country’s established schedule for implementing daylight saving time each year. At midnight, clocks will be advanced by 60 minutes.
The move is aimed at reducing electricity consumption and improving efficiency by extending daylight hours into the evening, helping ease pressure on the national power grid.
