Dr. Mohamed Ali Fahim, Head of the Climate Change Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture, issued an urgent statement warning of severe weather fluctuations and an unstable weather system expected to begin developing within the next few hours.
He stressed the need for heightened caution among both citizens and farmers.
Fahim explained that forecasts indicate significant wind activity on Wednesday and Thursday, which could reduce horizontal visibility in open areas and desert roads.
Winds are expected to precede the arrival of a low-pressure system that will bring notable changes in temperatures and cloud movement.
The climate expert warned that Thursday will witness the peak of instability, with heavy rainfall expected in scattered regions across the country.
He urged farmers to take all necessary precautions to protect standing crops, especially those sensitive to high humidity or strong winds.
He also advised stopping irrigation and spraying activities during the period of weather instability to ensure the safety and quality of agricultural production.
The statement was issued as part of the Ministry’s efforts to provide technical guidance to reduce potential losses caused by the adverse weather conditions.
Fahim emphasized the importance of following the regular weather updates and bulletins issued by the Climate Change Information Center.
