On Wednesday, Egypt will see a phenomenal sky-event which Mercury-Mars conjunction. This conjunction will be the nearest in the year as the distance between the two planets will be less than 0.1 degrees.
The event will start immediately during dusk. Watchers can identify the location of two planets in the sky by observing Venus' place as Mercury and Mars will stand beneath Venus.
People who reside in the southern half of the Earth will have the chance to watch the phenomena easily and brightly. However, people in the other half will hardly observe the phenomena by the naked eye.
It is worthy to mention that the first half of August witnessed several enjoyable sky events such as the birth of the new moon that took place on August 8. After that, rare conjunction between the moon and Mars happened on August 9. It was followed by another conjunction between the moon and Venus on Wednesday, August 11.
Thursday, and Friday, August 12,13, marked the climax of the Perseids meteor shower.
After tonight's conjunction, another series of sky phenomena will take place such as Jupiter's move to stand in front of the sun on August 20, and it will be followed by a conjunction between the moon and Saturn on the following day, Saturday, August 21.
August’s full moon will come on Sunday, August 22. And, the final sky event for the month will take place on Monday, August 30, when the moon will stand at the furthest spot away from the Earth.
