On Saturday, Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the Meteorological Authority media center said that temperature degrees are predicted to continue to drop in the coming period, hitting below zero in Saint Catherine.

In a televised interview, Manar revealed the details of the weather during the current week, saying that the country is affected by very cold air masses.

She pointed out that the temperatures in some areas of northern Upper Egypt reached 3 degrees Celsius, adding "the weather during the night will witness a decrease in temperatures, with active winds will be seen on some areas in the exotic southern coasts and North Sinai, and chances of rain Saturday on some areas of the coasts, and Sunday in Greater Cairo.”

"So far this winter is not the most difficult that Egypt has witnessed, and we expect by the end of the week the temperature will drop, and with the beginning of February the cold wave will break, but it is possible to see more cold waves again in the coming months,” Dr. Ghanem added.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts cold weather to prevail in Cairo, Lower Egypt, the North Coast, and Upper Egypt, during daylight hours on Saturday.

On the other hand, the northern coasts, South Sinai, and the Red Sea mountains will see moderately cold weather, while the south of Upper Egypt and South Sinai will experience moderate one.

It is also foreseen that the country will experience a decline in temperature. Therefore, frost could be witnessed in the northern coasts, the middle and the south of Sinai.
