The Egyptian Metrological Authority (EMA) anticipated that cold weather is set to prevail across most of Egypt on Sunday during the daytime, growing very cold by night.
In a statement, the EMA added that dense fog will cover the skies of different governorates across Egypt, especially on highways and roads near water surfaces.
It also pointed out that mist will hamper visibility across the country’s northern part, with low and medium-level clouds accompanied with rainfall in the northern parts of the country.
Frost is predicted on plantations in central Sinai.
Winds are expected to be mostly southwestern, active on the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea and may disrupt the maritime navigation there.
Waves in the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea will be moderate and range between 2.5 to 3 meters in height, with southwesterly surface winds. Surface winds on the Mediterranean are expected to be northwestern to southwestern and northwestern on the Red Sea.
Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 18C in Cairo and Alexandria, 19C in Qena, 19C in Sohag, Luxor 20C, and Aswan 21C.
The country will also witness the continuation of active winds stirring sand and dust on most parts in open areas, which greatly increases the citizens’ sensitivity to cold weather.
It is noteworthy that the EMA has previously warned Egyptians that unstable weather will continue during the coming period, predicting that low and medium clouds will be accompanied by rainfalls nationwide.
It also advised people to wear heavy clothes، especially during the late hours of the night.
