The Egyptian Mercantile Exchange (EMX) announced the need for companies operating in the sugar commodity to register their membership in the Commodity Exchange link ( http://www.emx.com.eg/MembersReg.aspx) to engage in the first trading sessionon Thursday, August 17.
This comes after it was agreed with the EMX that sugar production companies offer quantities of sugar for sale through the exchange platform for the benefit of food industry companies, distribution companies, merchants, and packing companies.
The head of the commodity exchange Ibrahim Ashmawy said that the sugar commodity, upon its launch, will be the fourth commodity to be offered for trading through the Egyptian Commodity Exchange platform, after the successful offering of wheat, maize and apostasy commodities.
Ashmawy indicated that a study is underway to offer more other commodities for trading on the Egyptian Commodity Exchange.
