Egypt Implements Arab Africa Trade Bridges Programe

Egypt will start implementing the Arab Africa Trade Bridges (AATB) programe, which was launched by the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), during December, according to the announcement on Sunday by he Trade and Industry ministry headed by Nevine Gamea.

Gamea said that the Export Development Authority (EDA) would implement the programe in Cairo in cooperation with the ITFC, export councils and the Federation of Egyptian Industries. In addition, the programe will last until the end of September 2021. She noted that the programe aims to enhance capacity of  exporters and encourage exporting to new markets in Africa.

On other hand, African markets which the programe seeks to increase Egyptian exports; ''Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Rwanda in the east, as well as, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, and Guinea in the west''.

Moreover, Ruba Zayed the EDA CEO, noted that the AATB programe aims to finance a number of export development programes implemented by the authority, as well as the programe will start by holding a workshop in Cairo by the end of December 2020, followed by a number of workshops in Alexandria, Damietta, Port Said, and Aswan for Egyptian companies in certain sectors.
