Egypt is set to launch several major development initiatives in South Sudan, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation, announced Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. The announcement came during a high-level meeting led by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, focusing on deepening ties and implementing joint projects.
Foreign Minister Shoukry highlighted Egypt's commitment to supporting its historical relationship with South Sudan through tangible developmental assistance. Currently, various Egyptian ministries and governmental bodies are engaged in executing developmental projects in South Sudan, complemented by grants and aid facilitated by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development.
Significant upcoming projects include the inauguration of an Alexandria University branch in Tonj, a technical school in Warrap, and a large-scale power station in Rumbek. These initiatives aim to significantly contribute to the educational and infrastructural development of South Sudan, underscoring Egypt's supportive role in the region.
