The Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir said on Wednesday that Egypt will implement a 60-km Al Manashi-6 October railway, at an estimated cost of EGP 2.4 billion, to serve the dry port in the 6th of October City.
Al-Wazir said in a statement that studies on the project of establishing the dry port on the 6th of October City have been completed and submitted to qualified companies, noting that the offers were received on August 21 and are under evaluation.
Moreover, the Minister pointed out that the dry port project and the logistics area in the 10th of Ramadan are being offered to investors to start the implementation process.

He pointed out that an integrated plan has been prepared to establish seven dry ports and logistic areas across the country and link them to railways, stressing that the initiative comes in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, Utilities & Urban Communities at a total cost of EGP 1.141 billion.
Al-Wazir inspected the projects' sites, including dry ports and logistics centers in the cities of the 6th of October, the 10th of Ramadan, New Damietta, New Beni Suef, New Borg El Arab, and New Sohag.
