Egypt to Host Palestinian Factions Dialogue on Feb. 5

Egypt invited Palestinian factions to hold a dialogue on February 5th to discuss all election-related issues, according to Sky News Arabia.

On January 15, President Mahmoud Abbas issued a presidential decree on holding general elections in three stages.

According to the decree, legislative elections will be held on May 22, and presidential elections on July 31.

Thus, the results of the Legislative Council elections are considered the first stage in the formation of the Palestinian National Council. 

The National Council will be completed on August 31 in accordance with the basic system of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and national understandings.
