Egypt to Host 2nd El Alamein Int'l Air Show, Space Exhibition in September

Egypt is preparing to host the second edition of the El Alamein International Air Show and Space Exhibition (EIAS 2026) from September 8 to 10 in New Alamein City, as the government seeks to position the country as a regional hub for the aerospace, aviation, and space industries.

Ahead of the event, the Egyptian Air Force and the Ministry of Civil Aviation held a joint press conference to unveil details of the exhibition, attended by government officials, senior military leaders, representatives of international media organizations, and executives from leading global aerospace and defense companies.

Held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the exhibition is intended to reinforce Egypt's growing role as a regional platform for major aviation and space industry events while supporting investment, innovation, technology transfer, and long-term international partnerships.

Among those participating in the press conference were Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Amr Saqr, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny, Egyptian Space Agency Chief Executive Magdy Ismail, and Mohamed Adly, Head of the Armed Forces Armament Authority, alongside military attachés accredited to Egypt and representatives of major international aerospace companies.

Saqr said Egypt is fully prepared to host what he described as one of the region's leading international aerospace exhibitions, bringing together global leaders in military aviation, commercial aviation, private aircraft manufacturing, navigation systems, defense technologies, and space industries.

He said the exhibition aims to create new opportunities for cooperation between Egypt and international partners across aircraft manufacturing, aviation equipment, defense technologies, and space-related industries.

Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny described EIAS 2026 as a strategic opportunity for industry stakeholders to exchange expertise, showcase the latest technological developments, and strengthen international cooperation across the aviation sector.

He said hosting the event in New Alamein City reflects Egypt's broader vision of developing its new urban centers into global venues for major international exhibitions while highlighting investment opportunities within the country's civil aviation sector.

The exhibition, he added, will also serve as a platform to promote partnerships with leading international companies in technology, innovation, and advanced aviation services.

Magdy Ismail, Chief Executive of the Egyptian Space Agency, said the exhibition is expected to attract strong regional and international participation from organizations operating in the aerospace, defense, and space technology sectors, further strengthening Egypt's position as an emerging center for technological innovation.

Maj. Gen. Mohamed Adly said the event will provide defense and aerospace specialists with an opportunity to explore the latest developments in military aviation, unmanned aerial systems, and next-generation defense technologies.

Organizers said EIAS 2026 will feature a large static aircraft exhibition at El Alamein International Airport, alongside live aerial demonstrations and exhibitions by leading global aerospace, aviation, and defense companies.
