Egypt will host the first regional Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit in 2026, marking a significant step in the country’s efforts to position itself as a regional hub for advanced technologies and digital innovation.

The AI Everything Middle East & Africa Summit and Exhibition is scheduled to take place on February 11–12, 2026, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) in Cairo.

The event will be held under the umbrella of GITEX Global, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).

The summit is expected to bring together policymakers, technology executives, investors, and innovators from across Africa and the Middle East to discuss the latest developments in artificial intelligence and its applications in key sectors, including healthcare, finance, transportation, cybersecurity, and smart cities.

Organizers said more than 350 international companies and Startups are expected to participate, alongside government representatives and global technology experts, reflecting growing regional and international interest in AI-driven solutions.

According to industry estimates, artificial intelligence could contribute up to $1.5 trillion to the economies of Africa and the Middle East by 2030, highlighting the sector’s potential role in accelerating economic growth and productivity.

Egypt has been expanding its digital infrastructure and regulatory framework to support emerging technologies. The country ranked first in Africa on the Government AI Readiness Index 2025 and third among Arab countries, underscoring its progress in AI governance and institutional preparedness.

Officials say hosting the summit will help strengthen international partnerships, attract technology investment, and support the integration of AI across public and private sectors, as Egypt seeks to enhance its position in the regional digital economy.
