Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that they are reviewing the recent developments regarding gasoline, following reports of a gasoline contamination at gas stations.

The Prime Minister made this statement during his regular press conference following the cabinet meeting at its headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Madbouly confirmed that as soon as the problem is identified, it will be announced immediately.

He explained that as soon as he was informed, he contacted the Minister of Petroleum and instructed him to launch an immediate investigation to determine the problem. He emphasized, "Because we will not hide anything, we are investigating to determine whether it was a specific shipment or not"

He pointed out that some of the petroleum products at the stations are imported as refined petroleum products, while the other part is imported as crude oil and refined in national refineries.
