Egypt decided on Sunday to suspend trading in the state's capital market for 30 minutes after suffering huge losses exceeded 5%, according to Sky News.
"It is noteworthy that the total coronavirus-diagnosed cases reached 110, including 21 cases, who had recovered," the Egyptian Health Ministry said on Saturday
In a statement, Khaled Megahed, the ministry’s spokesman, said 17 confirmed cases were detected today; three of them are foreigners and 14 are Egyptians.
“Two out of the 14 cases returned from abroad and the remained were in contact with positive cases earlier announced,” Megahed added.
Megahed pointed out that there only two death cases announced on March 8 and 12.
The Health Ministry raises its preparedness at all the country’s ports and airports to monitor the virus developments.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed officials on Saturday to suspend the educational process in schools and universities for two weeks, starting from Sunday, due to the coronavirus fears.
