Egypt Supports Saudi Endeavors to Reach Political Solution in Yemen

Egypt expressed its full support for all measures taken by the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen to deal with the practices of the Houthis militia, which are fueling the situation in Yemen.

“Egypt also affirms its support with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its sincere endeavors to advance the march of a political solution in Yemen and enforce the ceasefire between the legitimate government forces and the Houthis militia,” a statement issued by the foreign ministry read late Sunday.

In this regard, Egypt condemns targeting civilian facilities by the Houthis militia in the city of Marib with ballistic missiles, which resulted in the injury of many civilians. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the great importance of reaching a comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen so that the humanitarian and economic measures that are agreed upon ensures alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crisis exacerbating throughout Yemen as a result of the failure of the political solution.

Moreover, Egypt appreciates all the work of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen to reach these goals, according to the statement.
