In a powerful show of solidarity, Egypt's Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center has released a series of videos on its social media platforms, documenting Egypt's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people in Gaza since the beginning of the crisis.
The videos feature interviews with officials overseeing the humanitarian convoys, highlighting the scale and significance of these aid missions.
An official from the “Tahya Misr” Fund revealed that more than seven massive humanitarian convoys have been dispatched to Gaza, each carrying over 500 trucks loaded with diverse food supplies and medical necessities. These convoys are organized in collaboration with prominent charitable and humanitarian organizations such as “Life Makers,” the “Egyptian Food Bank,” and “Misr El Kheir,” among others.
One of the convoy officials emphasized that Egypt does not charge any fees for the passage of aid trucks, underscoring its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. He noted that the convoys pass through the Rafah border crossing free of charge, with all aid sourced from donations made by the Egyptian public and charitable institutions.
Moreover, the Director of Refugee Affairs highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the “Tahya Misr” Fund and numerous civil society organizations, resulting in the dispatch of over 664 trucks carrying more than 7,200 tons of essential supplies. These include food, medical supplies, tents, clothing, and blankets.
A “Tahya Misr” Fund official reiterated that humanitarian aid would continue flowing into Gaza even after the ceasefire. He praised the crucial role played by young volunteers in preparing and organizing the aid convoys.
Over 1,500 young volunteers from various civil society organizations participated, showcasing the deep solidarity and unwavering support of the Egyptian people for their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
