Egypt, Sudan FMs Discuss Bilateral Co-op, Post-War Reconstruction Efforts

A phone call was held, on Monday, between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, and Mohieldin Salem, Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as part of ongoing consultation and coordination between the two brotherly nations.

Both ministers reaffirmed their mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various fields.

They also emphasized the strategic nature of these relations, aiming to serve the common interests of both countries and peoples, while strengthening the existing bonds of connection and coordination.

Furthermore, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s steadfast position in support of Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions.

Moreover, he stressed the importance of neighboring countries respecting Sudan's sovereignty and security, emphasizing the principle of Sudanese ownership of the political solution.

Abdelatty also he highlighted the necessity of supporting stability and ending the conflict to achieve a comprehensive political settlement that preserves Sudan’s sovereignty and fulfills the aspirations of its people for security, stability, and development.

In addition, FM expressed Egypt’s and Egyptian companies' readiness to contribute to Sudan’s reconstruction once the war stops and security and peace are achieved, given the strategic relations between the two countries and the extensive experience of Egyptian companies in construction, building, and infrastructure redevelopment.

For his part, Sudanese FM expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s support at all levels, praising Egyptian positions that champion Sudan's unity and stability.

He also outlined the efforts made by the Sudanese government to address current challenges, affirming Sudan's eagerness to maintain ongoing coordination and consultation with Egypt to serve the interests of both nations, while looking forward to significant Egyptian participation in reconstruction programs.
