Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir said that the strategic relations between Egypt and China are a fundamental pillar for deepening cooperation between both countries.

During a celebration to mark the 64th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, Samir stressed that Egypt is keen to support joint cooperation with China, as it is one of the largest economies in the world.

He added that the joint cooperation between Egypt and China reflects the close friendship between Cairo and Beijing, especially the strong friendship between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.

Moreover, he added that the frequent presidential visits played a strong role in strengthening and developing the relations and entering the stage of comprehensive strategic partnership.

Furthermore, the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry said that China enjoys a great economic position, which prompted Egypt to expand the size of the joint economic relations and attract more investments to Egypt.

He added that China is an important trading partner for Egypt, and that the volume of trade between the two countries reached $16 billion last year.

He also expressed the Egyptian government's desire to expand and increase the volume of trade exchanges with Beijing.
