Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Yemen’s internationally recognised government and stressed Cairo’s full commitment to the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen during talks with Yemeni Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaya Mohsin Al-Zindani in Cairo.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ambassador Ehab Fahmy and focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Yemen, alongside discussions on regional developments.
Madbouly welcomed the Yemeni prime minister and his accompanying delegation during their current visit to Cairo, expressing pride in the longstanding historical and brotherly relations between the two countries. He stressed Egypt’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in the coming period in a manner that serves the interests of both peoples.
The Egyptian prime minister also reiterated the core principles of Cairo’s position regarding the Yemeni crisis, underlining Egypt’s continued support for Yemen’s legitimate government and its backing for the country in international forums.
During the discussions, Madbouly highlighted the importance of coordination and integration between the two countries in light of ongoing regional developments and challenges affecting the Middle East.
