Egypt, Somalia Discuss Strengthening Military Co-op

General Abdel Majeed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with Somali Minister of Defense Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting addressed ways to enhance military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries and to support efforts aimed at achieving security and stability across the African continent.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces affirmed Egypt’s deep appreciation for its longstanding ties with Somalia and expressed keenness to further strengthen cooperation in various military fields.

For his part, the Somali Minister of Defense praised Egypt’s sincere efforts to promote security and peace for all African nations, noting the shared vision and mutual understanding between the two countries on various issues of common concern.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with several senior military leaders.
