On the Nile River, the first edition of the Nile International Sailing Optimist Race concluded its events. The tournament was celebrated under the auspices of the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Ashraf Sobhy and the Egyptian Sailing and Water Ski Federation's president Amr Abou El-Seoud.
On the race's sidelines, the Verynile initiative carried out various rounds of cleaning up the Nile.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Ministers of Environment Yasmine Fouad and of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aty. On behalf of the Sports Minister, the Assitant Minister Amr Haddad was present.

Egypt Won Two Silvers
Around 35 players from Morroco, Algeria, Germany, Great Britan, in addition to Egypt (the host country), competed at the prestigious event.
At the boy's competition, Algerian Yanis Amriche won the gold medal, while the silver and bronze went for Egyptian Yehia El-Fakharany and Mohamed Nazim, respectively.

Regarding the girls' game, Egypt's Habiba El-Demerdash was the runner-up. The categories' champion was British Emily Schonrock while Algeria's Maria Rayasi ended third.
