Egypt emphasized its humanitarian and diplomatic efforts to support Gaza during a visit by a Swedish-Finnish delegation to the Rafah border crossing, where officials outlined the scale of aid operations and ongoing logistical challenges.
Hundreds, and in some areas thousands, of trucks remain stationed near Rafah and extending toward the city of Arish, awaiting clearance to deliver supplies into Gaza. The crossing is technically prepared to handle between 600 and 1,000 trucks daily, although restrictions on the other side have limited the number of trucks entering the enclave, despite provisions outlined in the Gaza peace agreement.
Egypt has also supplemented ground deliveries with air operations, sending hundreds of tons of food and relief supplies through more than eight military flights.
The delegation discussed the wider political context, emphasizing the humanitarian consequences of recurring conflicts between Israel and Palestinian factions. Officials highlighted the importance of advancing a two-state solution as a sustainable framework for resolving the long-standing dispute.
Egypt continues to position itself at the center of both humanitarian coordination and diplomatic mediation efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in Gaza.
