Badr Abdel-Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, held a phone conversation today, Tuesday, with Sylvestre Radegonde, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Seychelles, as part of efforts to enhance bilateral relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Seychelles.
During the call, Abdel-Aty reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to fostering cooperation and partnership with Seychelles, emphasizing the importance of strengthening African-African collaboration.
He highlighted the significance of building on the distinguished relations between the two countries and elevating joint cooperation to better serve the interests of both nations.
The two ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly in economics, trade, development, and capacity-building.
They also exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest related to the African continent, including topics concerning the African Union and ways to enhance its role in supporting security and stability across Africa.
Both sides agreed to maintain coordination and consultation on priority issues of mutual interest, reaffirming the importance of reciprocal support for nominations in regional and international forums.
For his part, Seychelles FM expressed his appreciation for Egypt's regional and international role, praising Egyptian initiatives aimed at promoting cooperation within the African continent and enhancing capacity-building and sustainable development.
