Under the directives of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt sent medical and humanitarian aid to Lebanon on Thursday.
Minister of Social Solidarity Nivine El-Qabbage directed the Egyptian Red Crescent to send humanitarian aid to Lebanon in accordance with Misr El Khair Foundation, Resala Association, Food Bank, and Clothing Bank.
El-Qabbage asserted that the Ministry of Social Solidarity has succeeded in providing urgent aid to Lebanon, which includes 100 tons of relief and food materials (blankets/mattresses/food items) and 250 tons of medical supplies (masks/medicines).
In the same vein, she pointed out that the Red Crescent helped in sending aid to the Lebanese Red Cross in order to face the recent repercussions that the country is witnessing in recent times.
This move is solid proof of Egypt's full support for the Lebanese people in crises and disasters.
The minister also hailed the vital role of civil society organizations in this process, highlighting the efforts of volunteers from the Egyptian Red Crescent in completing the logistical procedures of preparing, mobilizing, loading and sending the aid by sea.
