Upon directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and within the framework of continued Egyptian support and solidarity with friendly and brotherly countries in various crises and adversities, the General Command of the Armed Forces issued orders to send a military plane loaded with medical aid to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The military plane took off Wednesday from Cairo's East Air Base to an airport in Kinshasa.

"In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the military plane loaded with large quantities of medical aid in the form of medicines and medical supplies provided by the Ministry of Health and Population to the Democratic Republic of the Congo landed in Kinshasa," the Egyptian presidency and Armed Forces said in official statements.

"This aid comes as an affirmation of the depth of relations between Egypt and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and based on Egypt's pioneering role towards the countries of the African continent in times of adversity and crises, and to provide them with full support and solidarity," the statement read.
