Egypt Sees Hot, Humid Weather on Monday, Cairo 35°C

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts hot and humid weather will prevail in most of the country during Monday’s daylight hours.

Extremely hot and humid weather is also expected to prevail in the south of the country.

The weather will seem hotter due to the high humidity levels, which will push up the heat index by 2-4 degrees.

The country also witnesses mist, extending into fog, on the agricultural and highway roads from the north of the country to Cairo, Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and North Upper Egypt.

There is a 30% chance of light rainfall prevailing intermittently in Halayeb and the far south of the Eastern Sahara.

Wind speeds between 30 and 35 (km/h) are expected to occur occasionally in most parts of Egypt, increasing the cooling effect at night.

The winds will also stir up sand and dust across Halayeb and the far south of the Eastern Sahara.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience moderate waves, ranging between 1.5 and 2. 25 meters in height varying between northeast and northwest surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea will be moderate to turbulent, ranging between 1.5 and 2.5 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Meanwhile, maritime navigation is expected to be disrupted in the Gulf of Suez, with winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h and waves ranging between 2:3 meters.

Maritime navigation will be disrupted in the shores of El Salloum, Marsa Matruh, El-Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, and Port Said, with winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h and waves ranging between 1.5:2.5 meters.

Moderate and humid weather is also expected to prevail in most parts of Egypt at night and in the early morning.

The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 35°C in Cairo, 30°C in Alexandria, 30°C in Marsa Matruh, 29°C in Sohag, 43°C in Qena, and 45°C in Aswan.
