The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts extremely hot weather will prevail in most of the country during Monday’s daylight hours.

Moderately to hot weather is also expected to prevail in the North Coast.

The weather will seem hotter due to the high humidity levels, which will push up the heat index by 2-3 degrees.

The country also witnesses mist, extending into fog, on the agricultural and highway roads from the north of the country to Cairo, Canal Cities, Central Sinai, and North Upper Egypt, limiting horizontal visibility.

There is a 20% chance of light rainfall prevailing intermittently in the North Coast and North Lower Egypt.

Wind speeds between 30 and 32 kilometres per hour (km/h) are expected to occasionally occur in most parts of the country, stirring up sand and dust in the Western Sahara.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience low to moderate waves, ranging between 1.25 and 1.75 meters in height varying between northeast and northwest surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea will be moderate, ranging between 1.5 and 2.25 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Moderate weather is also expected to prevail in most parts of Egypt at night, turning moderate in the early morning.

Moderate weather is also expected to prevail in North Upper Egypt.

The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 36°C in Cairo, 31°C in Alexandria, 28°C in Marsa Matruh, 41°C in Sohag, 42°C in Qena, and 41°C in Aswan.
