Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy recently met with Maja-Jennifer Koehl, the CEO of ETI Group, and her delegation to discuss enhancing tourism flows into Egypt.
The meeting, held at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, focused on strategies to increase tourist arrivals from Eastern Europe, Germany, and Austria in the coming months.
During the discussions, the group reviewed ETI's growing business presence in Egypt. They highlighted ongoing projects, including a new hotel in Marsa Alam set for completion soon, and a second hotel in the North Coast with a capacity of 500 rooms.
ETI executives expressed their intent to further expand their operations in Egypt, citing increased demand for Egypt as a destination, particularly for the upcoming winter tourism season.
They emphasized the need for more promotion of Egypt's beach resorts, especially in the German market, and predicted a rise in demand for cultural tourism in Upper Egypt starting from the next winter season.
ETI, or Express Travel International, is a prominent tour operator with a strong presence in markets such as Eastern Europe, Austria, and Germany.
The group's officials also noted their commitment to promoting Egypt’s diverse offerings, including its rich history and scenic coastal areas.
The meeting was attended by senior Egyptian tourism officials, including Yomna El-Bahar, Deputy Minister of Tourism, and Amr El-Qady, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation. Also present were ETI Group's strategic marketing and public affairs head, Tamer Marzouk, and Martin Hafner, the group's director for Austria and Eastern Europe.
