Egypt-Rwanda Discuss Cooperation in Digital Transformation, Innovation

Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology met with Paula Ingabire, Minister of Information and Communications Technology and Innovation in Rwanda to discuss support for cooperation in the fields of communications and information technology, especially those related to digital transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship and the post.

This came on the sidelines of Talaat's participation in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation and exchange of experiences in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, technical training and building Rwandan cadres in various technical fields. In this context, Talaat reviewed the initiatives of the ةinistry to prepare digital competencies in various fields of technology.

He explained that the Egypt Informatics University was established to create a generation of informatics experts; where the invitation of Rwandan students to study at the university was considered.

The two sides discussed ways to support cooperation in the field of information technology by sending missions to explore the Rwandan information and communication technology market to identify the opportunities available to Egyptian companies to present their products, as well as cooperation in the field of digital transformation and building applications necessary for the establishment and management of smart cities, the use of Egyptian expertise in developing post and its various services to enable Rwandan Post to implement modernization plans was also discussed.
