Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, received, on Wednesday, a phone call from the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
During the call, the Egyptian side was officially notified of the selection and announcement of the industrial developer for the Russian Industrial Zone (RIZ) within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
For his part, Abdelatty emphasized the pivotal nature of this step in activating operations within the Russian zone, attracting investments, and commencing actual operations in the coming period.
Moreover, he noted that this milestone builds upon the discussions he held with his Russian counterpart and major Russian companies during his visit to Moscow in April 2026.
In turn, Russian Minister praised Egypt's efforts in launching and operating the Russian Industrial Zone, highlighting the legislative steps, incentive packages, and advanced facilities provided by the Egyptian government.
Furthermore, Alikhanov reaffirmed Russia's keenness to activate operations in the industrial zone and to continue working closely with Egypt to develop all aspects of investment and trade cooperation.
