General Abdel Majid Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with Mr. Liviu-Ionut Musteanu, the Romanian Minister of National Defense, and his accompanying delegation, who are currently visiting Egypt.
An official reception ceremony was held for the Romanian Minister at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, where military bands played the national anthems of both countries.
The meeting addressed a number of topics of mutual interest and discussed ways to enhance military relations between the two sides in various fields.
For his part, Defense Minister affirmed the depth of the partnership and bilateral cooperation relations and the coordination of efforts to achieve common interests and support the prospects for cooperation and exchange of expertise between the armed forces of both sides.
Moreover, Romanian Defense Minister expressed his appreciation for Egypt's active role in its regional and international environment, looking forward to the next phase witnessing a strengthening of joint relations on the military level between the Egyptian and Romanian armed forces.
Furthermore, the defense ministers of both countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of military cooperation, which included the main activities that the armed forces of both countries seek to support during the coming period.
The meeting and the signing of the MoU were attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, commanders of the main branches, and a number of leaders from the Egyptian and Romanian armed forces.
