Humanitarian aid convoys have resumed their journey from Egypt into the Gaza Strip, as dozens of trucks loaded with food, medical supplies, and essential goods moved late Saturday night from the Egyptian side of Rafah toward the Kerem Abu Salem crossing.

The deliveries, organized in coordination with international agencies, come after temporary ceasefire arrangements announced by Israel.

The renewed flow of aid aims to ease the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where more than two million residents face acute shortages of food, medicine, and other essentials after months of blockade and disrupted supply lines. Egypt currently provides the vast majority of aid entering the enclave, with convoys undergoing inspection before being handed over under the supervision of United Nations and Red Cross teams.

Despite these relief efforts, the situation on the ground remains perilous. In southern Gaza, at least 23 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes since dawn on Saturday, including 12 people who had been waiting for aid. Al-Awda Hospital in Al-Nuseirat reported five deaths and 27 injuries from strikes in the same area earlier in the day.

The continuing violence has raised alarm among humanitarian groups, who warn that the combination of hunger, displacement, and insecurity is creating conditions for a catastrophe. While the resumption of aid convoys reflects rare coordination between Egypt, international organizations, and Israeli authorities, the deadly attacks on civilians near distribution points underscore the fragile and dangerous environment in which relief operations are taking place.
