On Friday, Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population reported 927 new coronavirus cases, 52 deaths, and 432 recoveries.

A total of 329,136 cases have been reported in Egypt, alongside 18,535 deaths and 277,233 recoveries.

The country’s fourth wave of the virus is in full force, with daily case figures ten times higher than what was recorded at the end of July.

Moreover, the Health Ministry has stated that official figures likely only represent 10 percent of actual cases.

According to World Health organization data, as of October 23, 25,083,832 vaccine doses have been administered.

While Egypt’s Supreme Committee for the Management of Coronavirus Crisis lifted some COVID-19 restrictions back in June, there is talk of reinstating some measures.

Egypt has provided many vaccines either through the VACSERA factories or imported vaccines. There are 1,100 vaccination centers for citizens in addition to vaccination centers for travelers, he added, as well as thousands of medical mobile teams and convoys that target citizens in different gathering places.

A member of the Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavirus at Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population, Mohamed al-Nady announced in late October that Egyptian companies have manufactured medicines that can treat mild symptoms of coronavirus.

Nady said that the Egyptian drug Anviziram treats the symptoms of the coronavirus within 48 hours. He added that this drug was produced in Japan in 2014, after which China manufactured it to treat influenza, and then Egypt produced it because it treats high temperatures.
