On Sunday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 801 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s total up to 387,159.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 21,797 nationwide after the ministry announced 29 deaths.
About 436 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 321,568.
On November 14, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) announced the start of clinical trials for CoviVacc, the country’s first coronavirus vaccine.
The authority confirmed that the vaccine is a fruitful outcome of cooperation between the National Research Center and Vaccine Valley Company.
