On Saturday, Egypt recorded 600 new coronavirus cases, bringing its total infections tally nationwide to 177,543 since the outbreak last year, according to the ministry of health's statement.
The statement reported 48 new deaths, bringing the overall fatalities from the virus to 10,298.
As many as 405 patients have been discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries to 137,294, the statement says.
