According to the Engineering Export Council (EEC) of Egypt, the sector's exports from January through November 2022 totaled $3.32 billion, up 10% from the $3 billion exported during the same time in 2021.
The most prominent industries with export increase in the first 11 months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 were cables, up 33%, car components, up 15%, home appliances, up 5%, and machinery and equipment, up 128%, according to the EEC's monthly report.
The study found that exports of pumps, boilers, and engines surged by 91% while exports of transportation equipment jumped by 14%, metal forming experienced an astonishing increase of 96%, and exports of the electrical and electronic industries increased by 2%.
