Egypt’s Foreign Minister has reiterated the country’s firm stance against any foreign military presence on Libyan soil. In a meeting with a senior adviser to former U.S. President Donald Trump, the minister emphasized that Egypt opposes external interference that could undermine Libya’s sovereignty.
The minister also stressed the importance of maintaining Libya’s unity and stability, underlining Egypt’s support for a comprehensive Libyan-led political solution. “It is crucial to continue efforts to advance the political track and achieve a full, inclusive Libyan agreement,” he said.
Moreover, the Foreign Minister warned that Israel’s recognition of the so-called “Somaliland” threatens the foundations of stability in the Horn of Africa, highlighting Cairo’s broader regional concerns.
Egypt’s statements reflect its continued commitment to regional stability and the principle of resolving conflicts through local, inclusive political processes.
