Egypt will oppose all attempts to undermine the Palestinian cause, whether through the forced displacement of civilians or by making the Gaza Strip uninhabitable, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi affirmed at the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh.
"This is utterly unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” El-Sisi stated during the summit.
The president emphasized that establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is essential for achieving regional security and stability.
He noted that this move could transition the region from one marked by conflict to one focused on peace and development. El-Sisi made these comments at the summit, which follows a year of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
President El-Sisi also condemned Israel's systematic killing campaign against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, criticizing the silence of the international community.
He pointed out that the Israeli hostilities occur amid a "shameful silence and disgraceful failure" of the international community to fulfill its basic responsibilities in facing this serious threat to global peace and security.
"Our Arab and Islamic citizens, along with people of conscience worldwide, rightfully question the value of any discourse on justice when innocent children, women, and the elderly are brutally slaughtered every day,” he added.
El-Sisi asserted that the region and the world stand at a pivotal crossroads, as the ongoing aggression in Palestinian and Lebanese territories challenges the fundamental principles of the international order.
