The Egyptian authorities refused to designate the Rafah crossing for foreigners only, and demanded facilitating the arrival and crossing of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

Egypt refused to allow any nationality to cross into the Egyptian crossing, which forced them to return to where they came from.

Cairo stipulated that Washington should allow aid to enter the Strip in exchange for the exit of foreigners.

It is estimated that among the foreigners stranded in Gaza, there are 500 Palestinians who hold American citizenship.

Informed Egyptian security sources stated that Egypt refused the passage except through an agreement requiring aid to reach the people of Gaza.

This came after the American and Swedish embassies notified their citizens in Gaza to go to the Rafah crossing this afternoon to evacuate them from the Strip.

Egyptian sources in Cairo said that some holders of foreign nationalities may be allowed to cross from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip today, after Egyptian-American coordination regarding them, after send aid to Gaza.

On Saturday, the Israeli army announced the opening of safe corridors for residents of northern Gaza City to leave their homes and head south, yet the south is being hit by Israeli fighters.

According to the Israeli army, civilians will be allowed to move along the streets it has designated between the hours of 10:00-16:00, yet a Palestinian civilian convoy was targeted and 70 people were killed, while 200 others were injured.
