Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's strong opposition to any violations of Lebanon's sovereignty.
He emphasized the seriousness of Israel's ground incursion into southern Lebanon during a phone call with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy on Monday.
Abdelatty called for an immediate ceasefire in both Lebanon and Gaza due to the rapidly escalating and dangerous situation in the region.
The foreign ministry released a statement regarding their discussion, highlighting the need for international efforts to prevent a regional war and to implement United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 1701.
Abdelatty also condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza and the West Bank, stressing the importance of a ceasefire and the need for Israel to allow humanitarian aid and relief assistance into the strip.
