Egypt expressed on Tuesday its regret over storming Al Aqsa Mosque by an official at the new Israeli government and extremist elements, under the protection of Israeli forces, stressing its total rejection of any unilateral measures that violate the legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem.
In an official statement, Foreign Ministry warned of the negative repercussions of such measures on security and stability in the occupied territories and the region, and on the future of the peace process.
It also called on all parties to exercise restraint and responsibility and refrain from any measures that would inflame the situation.
