The population policies implemented by Egypt has contributed to a continued decline in population growth rates.
Egypt recorded the lowest population growth rate recorded during the first quarter of 2025, at 1.34%, compared to 1.4% in the corresponding quarter of 2024 and 1.6% in the same quarter of 2023.
Port Said Governorate recorded the lowest population growth rate during the period from January 2023 to April 2025, at 0.61%.
The launch of the "Golden Thousand Days" presidential initiative contributed to improving maternal and child health during the critical early stages of a child's life. Also, the National Program for the Development of the Egyptian Family and the National Population and Development Strategy have contributed to strengthening families' ability to make informed reproductive decisions.
Moreover, support for the use of reproductive health and family planning methods in hospitals immediately after birth reached 80%.
