Egypt has reached an agreement with France for the purchase of 30 additional Rafale fighter jets worth €3.9 billion, according to "Disclose" investigative website.

The deal includes a €200 million contract destined for buying equipment & munitions package for the jets.

In December, President Emmanuel Macron said he would not make the sale of weapons to Cairo conditional on human rights because he did not want to weaken Cairo's ability to counter-terrorism in the region, a comment that drew the ire of critics.
