Egypt Receives 50,000 Doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Vaccine

This morning, Egypt is set to receive 50,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine.

The shipment is part of 20 million doses contracted through The Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management ( AUPP).

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the vaccine will be stored at the Ministry of Health's stores, ahead of vaccinating the first groups according to priority, that are the medical front-liners, patients suffering from chronic diseases and the elderly.

Earlier, Major General Doctor Bahaa El Din Zidan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AUPP confirmed that the authority had contractedfor 20 million doses of the Coronavirus vaccine, basing on the directions of the political leadership, indicating that the vaccines are safe and effective.
