On Monday, Egypt received two million Sinovac doses donated by China.
The shipment of the vaccine manufactured by China’s state-owned pharmaceutical giant Sinovac arrived at Cairo’s international airport early Monday, according to the Health Ministry.
Egypt is using China's Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines in its mass-vaccination campaign.
Egypt's VACSERA has signed an agreement to manufacture Sinovac vaccines under the name Sinovac/VACSERA locally to use in its vaccination program and for export to African countries.

Egyptian-Chinese bilateral relations have reached a new level since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, given the fact that Egypt and China have been supporting each other, Chinese ambassador Liao Liqiang said.
Egypt has managed so far to vaccinate around 24 million people against the Coronavirus, according to health officials. The government has set a goal of vaccinating 40 million people by the end of 2021.
Egypt’s vaccination campaign has started in January using various types of imported and locally-made vaccines and vaccinating millions of citizens.
Minister of Health Hala Zayed said earlier that the country has received a total of 60 million doses of different vaccines, including AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik V, Johnson & Johnson vaccines, and finally, Pfizer.
Egypt received 1.6 million Pfizer vaccine doses as a gift from the US late last month.
