Egypt received on Sunday a shipment of 175,000 doses of Sputnik V anti-coronavirus vaccine within a deal to acquire 10 million doses.
They have actually entered into the stores of Unified Procurement Authority (UPA), and samples were drawn from them for analysis in the laboratories of the Egyptian Drug Authority.
Sputnik V Anti-COVID-19 vaccine will be available soon in all vaccination centers across the country.
It is worth mentioning that, on Saturday, Egypt reported 57 new coronavirus cases bringing the total infection tally officially to 284,580 since the outbreak began in February 2020, according to the Health Ministry in its daily coronavirus update statement.
The health ministry also reported in its statement 5 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 16,562.
The statement added that 321 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 232,601.
