Egypt Receives 15 Air-conditioned Third-class Railway Wagons from Hungary

The Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir announced the arrival of a new batch of railway passenger cars with a total of 15 air-conditioned third-class wagons to Alexandria port coming from Hungary.

This brings the total that has been supplied since the beginning of the signing of the deal with the Russian-Hungarian alliance to 785 wagons, of which 499 are dynamic ventilation vehicles, and 286 third-class air-conditioned vehicles.

The minister of transport added that the deal contributes to raising the efficiency of daily operation and the regularity of operating schedules, as the new carriages entered into the service successively to the daily operating schedule of the railway to maintain the continuity of providing distinguished services to the public of passengers.

It is worth noting that the deal comes within the framework of the agreement concluded between the Ministry of Transport represented by the Railways Authority and the Hungarian Janz Mavj Company to manufacture and supply the rest of the remaining wagons out of the total deal of 1,300 new railcars, in addition to the Hungarian company supplying 50 new buffet wagons that will work on Russian trains.
