Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Expatriates, participated on Wednesday in the ministerial meeting of Sudan Quartet (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States).
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the High-Level Segment of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Abdelatty stressed Egypt’s support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Sudan, as well as its national institutions.
Moroever, he underlined the urgent need to put an end to the humanitarian suffering caused by the ongoing conflict, emphasizing that no arrangements can be imposed on the brotherly Sudanese people.
He also expressed deep concern over the siege and deteriorating humanitarian situation in the city of El-Fasher, calling for the immediate lifting of the blockade.
FM further reiterated Egypt’s full support for Sudan’s state institutions.
