Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has reaffirmed Cairo’s full solidarity with Mali following recent terrorist attacks, strongly condemning the violence and reiterating Egypt’s firm rejection of all forms of terrorism.

During a phone call with Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop, Abdelatty emphasized the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and stressed Egypt’s support for Mali in confronting security threats. The discussion also focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in counterterrorism efforts across the Sahel region.

Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s consistent stance against extremism, calling for intensified regional and international coordination to combat terrorist networks, cut off their funding sources, and address the ideological drivers behind such acts. He highlighted the importance of a comprehensive approach that links security measures with sustainable development to ensure long-term stability.

For his part, Diop briefed his Egyptian counterpart on the latest security developments in Mali and ongoing efforts to counter extremist groups, amid rapidly evolving conditions on the ground.

Both ministers also exchanged views on broader strategies to promote peace, stability, and development across Africa, agreeing to enhance coordination at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
