A phone call was held between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.
The call aimed to consult on the developments of the US-Iranian negotiations and successive regional events, within the framework of close coordination between Egypt and Qatar.
Foreign Ministery Spokesman Tamim Khallaf stated that the two ministers exchanged views on the latest updates regarding the negotiation track between the United States and Iran.
This reflects a mutual commitment to coordinate on the evolving situation and align movements aimed at containing tension and continuing efforts to de-escalate the region.
The official spokesperson added that the call witnessed a consensus between both sides on the importance of prioritizing dialogue and resorting to diplomacy to contain the current crisis.
The two ministers emphasized that Continuing on the path of serious negotiation represents the only option to address outstanding issues and spare the region the repercussions of an uncalculated escalation that threatens regional peace and security.
Furthermore, the ministers stressed that the critical turning point the region is currently experiencing obligates all concerned parties to exercise the utmost degrees of flexibility and responsibility.
They underscored the necessity of taking the concerns of all parties into account as a fundamental pillar to guarantee sustainable calm and prevent the region from sliding into a new cycle of conflict and instability.
